Behesians by Isaiyan Morrison

Good Morning Lovelies,

This week I am reviewing Behesians by Isaiyan Morrison. I know this isn’t my usual review posting you, but on the bright side, you get two this week! I got this Review Copy through Lola’s Book Tours in exchange for an honest review. Here is a Summary of Behesians:

Summary

From tragedy comes destiny.
Cassidy is a 17-year-old girl being raised by her father in San Diego, California. Her existence is a mixed blessing, full of life but burdened with the knowledge that her mother died while giving birth to her.

Her mother’s absence constantly weighs on her mind, but she trusts her loving father to protect her like he’s always done.
Until the day that she discovers the truth.
Cassidy is a Behesian – born with dark magic and the ability to do extraordinary things – and it was her mother’s parting gift to her. She’s not the only one out there, and her dark gift makes her the strongest one alive.

However, her father has kept her talents a secret, but not for her peace of mind. He works for The Brotherhood, a secretive organization that tracks and studies supernatural people… and his daughter is the perfect test subject.
She finally realizes the crucial decision she faces: either stay with her father, the only family she’s ever known – or join her new Behesian brethren in the ultimate fight for survival.

Review

This book was honestly just ok for me. I thought the summary was interesting, but the book was very confusing. There are multiple perspective changes which at first is very puzzling because I didn’t have any background on any of the characters.

The summary only mentions Cassidy, and yet I feel we don’t see any of her in this book. The plot focuses around other characters and their journeys, so I felt a little mislead. The story was interesting, and I liked the concept of “The Brotherhood” the secret organization that is after all the supernatural creatures. I especially found Darrien’s storyline interesting as he is a Behesian who works with the Brotherhood, but we don’t see much of him either.

The book is well written and flows smoothly but I feel like the summary misleads the reader.

I give this book

See you guys on Thursday!
