Between Frost and Fury by Chani Lynn Feener

Hello, Lovelies,

Today I am reviewing Between Frost and Fury by Chani Lyn Feener, the second book in the  Xenith Trilogy! Once again this is a wonderful series that fans of Lux and Alienated will also thoroughly enjoy! You can read my review of the first book in this series here.

Synopsis

Delaney has been kidnapped by aliens. Again. After only a month back on Earth with her hot new alien boyfriend Ruckus, the deadly and devastatingly handsome prince Trystan has dragged her right back to his planet.

While some girls may dream of winning a prince’s heart, Delaney just wishes this one would leave her alone. Instead, she finds herself at the center of both a tense political battle between two alien kingdoms and Trystan’s romantic attentions, both of which are absolutely ruining the life she’s built on Earth. Not to mention the fact that she’s about to be crowned queen of a planet she’s barely even visited. Just another day in the life of an ordinary human girl.

Plot

The book begins where the last one left off, with Delaney kidnapped once more but this time by Trystan. Even though they had returned Olena and everything is as it was before, Trystan found out and has taken Delaney back to be his queen. I really loved the political intrigue and suspense and the book kept me hooked the whole time! I did like the first book better but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy reading this book any less

Characters

Delaney- I really love Delaney as the main character. She is so real and flawed and that makes her extremely relatable. She grows a lot as well, instead of being rude and standoffish to Trystan, she actually makes an effort to compromise and talk with him.

In the last book, we really saw Ruckus and Delaney’s relationship grow, but this book is only focused on growing the relationship between her and Trystan. I love a good enemy to lovers storyline and this book fed into that love and now I am definitely Team Trystan now. I love a tortured bad boy.

Last Thoughts

If you are an avid YA or Fantasy reader and are looking to transition to more Sci-Fi books, this is the series you should read. The fantasy reader in me loved the plot, the romance, and the overall structure of the book!
