Skyward by Brandon Sanderson Review

Hi Bibliophiles,
Time (Finally) to share with you the review for the first book I read in 2020!! Skyward by Brandon Sanderson is my first Brandon Sanderson book and I can’t wait to share my thoughts with all of you.

Synopsis
Spensa’s world has been under attack for decades. Now pilots are the heroes of what’s left of the human race, and becoming one has always been Spensa’s dream. Since she was a little girl, she has imagined soaring skyward and proving her bravery. But her fate is intertwined with that of her father’s—a pilot himself who was killed years ago when he abruptly deserted his team, leaving Spensa the daughter of a coward, her chances of attending Flight School slim to none.

No one will let Spensa forget what her father did, yet fate works in mysterious ways. Flight school might be a long shot, but she is determined to fly. And an accidental discovery in a long-forgotten cavern might just provide her with a way to claim the stars

Review
I finished Skyward in one sitting.

I just sat down thinking I would read the first ten chapters or something and 3 hours later, the book is closed beside me and I am sitting in shock on my bed.

This book was such a breath of fresh air. It is my first Brandon Sanderson book and he completely transported me to another world (specifically Detritus). Sanderson created such well-developed characters. I did not like Spensa at first, I thought she was too cocky and superficial, but as the book went on and we really delved into her character, I became the biggest fan.

I also love the attention Sanderson gave to the other characters such as Cobb, Jorgen, Rig, and all the others. I loved and felt for each of them even when they died.

My favorite by far is M-Bot, it is the best AI ship in the whole world and has my whole heart in its cockpit <3 I completely consumed and loved this story and cannot wait to pick up the next in the series
