    Balancing College and Blogging

Hello! Today I am going to talk about how I am balancing college and blogging. As you guys may or may not know, I am a second-semester freshman in College, and it was definitely an adjustment going from my structured High School schedule to a more free college schedule. Suddenly, I had all this unstructured time, and instead of being more productive, I tended to procrastinate a lot. It wasnโ€™t until halfway through the semester that I realized I needed to be more productive with my time. So this is how I worked to balance my college life and blogging.   Devote one hour to reading a day I love…

The Shadow Queen by CJ Redwine

Good Morning! Today I am reviewing The Shadow Queen by CJ Redwine! If you know me, you know I love a good retelling, and I love retellings of Snow White. The reason I enjoy Snow White retellings is that I donโ€™t like the Disney image of Snow White being so helpless and needing a man to save her. I love Once Upon A Timeโ€™s version in which Snow White is a badass that can kick ass. The Shadow Queen tells the story of Lorelai Diederich, a princess with magic in her blood who is on the run from our wicked Queen Irina after she killed Lorelaiโ€™s father. Our huntsman is…

The Wicked King by Holly Black

Hello! Today I am reviewingย The Wicked Kingย by Holly Black! I reviewedย Cruel Princeย a few weeks ago and Theย Wicked Kingย came out on January 8th! I just finished reading it I am in awe. Holly Black has created a world that I never want to stop living in. Her world building skills are off the charts! I think that Jude is the definition of a badass female character and even though most of her decisions are morally questionable, they are in line with her character. She seems cruel but I do believe that most of her choices were made to protectย Oak and give him what she never had, a childhood. Cardan has some…

    My Process for Writing Reviews

Hi Guys! Today I thought I would go through my process for writing reviews! I try to start writing reviews as soon as possible after reading the book because then everything is fresher in my mind. If itโ€™s been a while ย I either read a summary or skim through the book itself. It usually takes me about 15-20 minutes to write a review which is nice because that means I can just sit down and knock out about five in an hour! This is my general process:   Step One: Read the Books (duh) Once I find a book I am interested in, I read it! While I read I…
