Shadow & Bone by Leigh Bardugo

Good Morning Bibliophiles! Today I am reviewing another book that has been on my TBR pile forever, Shadow & Bone by Leigh Bardugo. This is the first installment in a trilogy and takes place in the same universe as the Six of Crows books and the newly released book, King of Scars. Shadow & Bone takes place in a country called Ravka. There we meet two orphans, a boy and a girl in an orphanage. A group of magic wielders called Grisha came to test the children and see if either of them are Grisha, but neither of them passed. The story then flashforwards to years later when the girl, Alina,…

The Shadow Queen by CJ Redwine

Good Morning! Today I am reviewing The Shadow Queen by CJ Redwine! If you know me, you know I love a good retelling, and I love retellings of Snow White. The reason I enjoy Snow White retellings is that I don’t like the Disney image of Snow White being so helpless and needing a man to save her. I love Once Upon A Time’s version in which Snow White is a badass that can kick ass. The Shadow Queen tells the story of Lorelai Diederich, a princess with magic in her blood who is on the run from our wicked Queen Irina after she killed Lorelai’s father. Our huntsman is…

A Court Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas

Hello Wonderful Humans! Today I am reviewing the second book in the  Court of Thorns and Roses Series, A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas. After the events under the mountain, Feyre is plagued with nightmares and guilt of what she has to do to survive and save her love Tamlin. There is also the matter of the deal she made to survive with Rhysand, the High Lord of the Night Court. In exchange for her life, Feyre will spend one week a…

The Wicked King by Holly Black

Hello! Today I am reviewing The Wicked King by Holly Black! I reviewed Cruel Prince a few weeks ago and The Wicked King came out on January 8th! I just finished reading it I am in awe. Holly Black has created a world that I never want to stop living in. Her world building skills are off the charts! I think that Jude is the definition of a badass female character and even though most of her decisions are morally questionable, they are in line with her character. She seems cruel but I do believe that most of her choices were made to protect Oak and give him what she never had, a childhood. Cardan has some…

    Everless by Sara Holland

Good Morning everyone! Today I am reviewing Everless by Sara Holland! Everless tells the story of a place called Sempra, where time is exchanged like currency. Taken from blood, made into stone, and consumed to extend one’s lifespan. The rich reap the benefits of this system, while the poor give their years in taxes. If you have ever seen the movie In Time with Amanda Seyfried and Justin Timberlake, this book has similar qualities. The protagonist of the story, Jules Ember, used to serve with her father at Everless, a palace that housed one of the more wealthier families, the Gerlings. The served until an incident forced them to flee…

Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas

Good Morning! This week I am reviewing a book that I have been meaning to read forever. That’s right, it’s Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas. Throne of Glass is one of the largest book fandoms out there, with the most recent book, Kingdom of Ash, being released in October of 2018. After people telling me to read it for years, I finally bought a copy! Throne of Glass tells the story of Celaena Sardothien, a famed assassin within the Kingdom of Adarlan. After being captured and kept a prisoner in the Endovier salt mines for a year, Celaena is finally offered the promise of release under the condition she…

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Thomas Nelson through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Good Morning! Today I am SO EXCITED cause I get to review ROMANOV by Nadine Brandes. Why am I so excited about this particular book? Well, its because I LOVE the story of Anastasia Romanov. The 20th Century Fox movie Anastasia is one of my favorite movies of all time and I have seen the Broadway Production not once, but twice, within the same year. Needless to say, I was so excited to receive this review copy from NetGalley. This book begins with Anastasia “Nastya” Romanov and…

The Glass Spare by Lauren DeStefano

Hello Lovelies, Today I am reviewing The Glass Spare by Lauren DeStefano. This book was a part of my December TBR and is a loose retelling of the story of King Midas. DeStefano also wrote The Chemical Garden series which is a beautiful read. The Glass Spare tells the story of  Wilhelmenia Heidl, the fourth child and only daughter of the King of a wealthy Kingdom. Wil wishes to explore the world but her father keeps her hidden the palace and only lets her out to spy for him. One day, when Wil is attacked she discovers that her touch can turn any living thing into gemstone. Terrified yet fascinated…
