Happy Spring!
Spring begins this week! Spring is my favorite season because of all the colors in nature, warm weather, and because my birthday is in April! What a better way to begin this era of warm weather and sunshine then a list of books you can take to read with you outside! Here is a list of books that reminds me of my fave season! These are not in any particular order:

Why: I chose this to be on the list because when I think of the Iron King, I am reminded of the words used to describe the realm of Nevernever: “Here and there, brilliant splashes of color stood out among the gray. A patch of flowers, their petals a shocking electric-blue, waved gently in the mist.” The detailed imagery screams spring to me.
A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle
Why: A Wrinkle in Time is one of the most cherished children’s books ever! The movie released on March 9th, but before you see it, be sure to read Madeleine L’Engle brilliant book that expands your imagination and takes you to extraordinary new places!
*Goddess Test by Aimmee Carter
Why: What better way to spend spring then reading an updated tale about Persephone, the Goddess of Spring. In this tale, Kate has been chosen to take the Goddess Test to see if she has what it takes to rule at Henry (Hades) side. It’s a beautiful tale of new love blossoming.
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Why: Be transported back to a time of courting love, elegant balls, and the stress of finding a suitable husband. Watch Elizabeth Bennet make witty remarks about Mr. Darcy and see how thin the line between hate and love is.
Why: Spring is all about new beginnings and what better way to honor that than a story about love and soul mates. Just one touch between Maggie and Caleb creates a bond that is stronger than anything in the world. Warning: Be prepared to swoon.
*The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
Why: I believe everyone should read this book once in their lifetime. It is about the struggles a teen faces as he goes through High School as a Wallflower. It is so relatable and deep and hits a chord. Even if you don’t read this book during spring break, read it another time, you won’t regret it.
*Painted Blind by Michelle A. Hansen
Why: On this list, there are many love stories because I am a firm believer that spring is the season of love. Painted Blind is an updated mythology of the story Cupid and Psyche. Cupid is the god of love, and this is a modernized tale of his romance.
The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
Why: Another classic, the secret garden is a book about a young girl who discovers a locked garden. I truly believe this book is timeless. It can be read and enjoyed by anyone no matter the age.
Why: I don’t know how but John Green sees into my soul! Paper Towns is the perfect spring break book because it has everything. Romance, adventure, and mystery! Paper Towns is one of my favorite books and when your done reading, you should watch the movie which is also pretty good!
*Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Why: This is one of my favorite paranormal books of all time! I can tell you why to read this book in two words: Daemon Black. That cocky, arrogant, swoon-worthy alien who melts all the reader’s hearts. This book is funny AND the main character Katy is a BOOK BLOGGER! I swear Jennifer wrote this book for me!
