Even If I Fall by Abigail Johnson

Hello Wonderful People!

I have decided to switch things up and post a book review!! Today I am reviewing Even If I Fall by Abigail Johnson! I would first like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC of this book! It is now available to be purchased so definitely go check it out!

Wow. I had a great time reading this book. I was immediately intrigued by the premise, but the book exceeded all my expectations. It tells the story of Brooke, a teenage girl whose brother had just confessed guilty to committing a murder, and Heath, the brother of the victim. Everything and everyone is telling them to hate each other but in truth, they find similarities in their shared, but opposite, experiences. Brooke is now the townn’s pariah and Heath can’t stand the guilty looks everyone throws his way.

Brooke is a compelling character whose struggle between loving and blaming her brother for his actions is so moving. While everyone in her family tries to forget it even happened, she is left to wonder about that night and how her brother turned into a murderer. Another compelling part of the story was her relationship with Heath. Heath doesn’t blame Brooke but still sees his brother’s murderer in her. Watching them strive to find acceptance in each other despite their families obvious disapproval, was beautiful to read about.

I thought the reactions and feelings of the characters were so realistic and this made this book so good, yet so utterly heartbreaking at times.

I give this book

See you next time!
