Origin by Jennifer L Armentrout

Summary of Origin:

Daemon will do anything to get Katy back.

After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.

All Katy can do is survive.

Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?

Together, they can face anything.

But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on?

And will they even be together?

Review

Hello Bookies,

It’s Thursday which means its time for a book post! This week, as we prep for the release of Jennifer L Armentrout’s newest installment in the world of Lux, I am reviewing the fourth book in the series, Origin! Just to let you know there will be spoilers of the other three books in the series in this review.

When we last left off, Katy had been taken by Daedulus as a part of their hybrid program. For the first few chapters of the book, we switch between Daemon and Katy’s point of view. This is quite new because we haven’t had Daemon’s perspective yet in the book. I didn’t know how I would feel about these dueling perspectives since we are so used to Katy as the narrator but I actually quite enjoyed seeing  Daemon fight to get Katy back.

This book also showed the return of Luc, the teenage, devious, club owner we were introduced to in Book 3. We learn a bit more about who (and what) he is and why he is so intent on taking down Daedalus

Origin kept me on my toes for all 364 pages. If I thought the last book left me wanting more, this book does in tenfold.

I give this book,
